Main Mauritian resorts chains have engaged through green certifications. This momentum have been possible thanks to TUI group, the first room / seat provider within the island. Effectively to be part of their program, hotels have to implement green practices, the all validated by a green certification program. Sun Resorts are rewarded with Travelife Gold & Earth Check Silver, Beachcomber with Earth Check Silver, LUX* Resorts with Travelife Gold & Green Globe, Constance with Green Globe and Heritage with Green Key. TiCATi on the other hands facilitates the research of these hotels that minimize their impact on environment.
Green actions from Mauritius hotel chains: Being one with the space means acting on a human scale; sourcing fruits and vegetables locally and picking fresh produce from our herb garden. It means being transparent about the non-toxic products we choose to use and the recycling we do, so our island keeps its natural biodiversity. We undertake various actions such as optimal use of air-conditioning and pool water, use of glass bottles instead of plastic, watering from rain water as well as recycling and composting.
